MUSEUM HOURS: 

Thursday- Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sunday: Noon – 5:00 p.m.

  • Visitors over the age of 10 are required to wear a mask upon entry.
  • Closed MondaysWednesdays

Please be advised that our active aircraft collection is on the move! We also often welcome visiting aircraft as well. As a result aircraft displays may vary each visit.

Visitor and Staff Distancing Guidelines

  • Please maintain social distance within the museum, with 130,000 square feet, there plenty of space for everyone!
  • Staff will monitor visitor numbers as well as limit the number of visitors in non-touch galleries that will remain open.
  • All visitors will have their temperature checked upon entry.
  • All visitors over the age of 10 will be required to wear a face mask.
  • The Lone Star Flight Museum will continue digital engagement on our social media platforms as well as on our website for those that may not yet be comfortable in public spaces.

Museum Staff Procedures

  • Museum staff will have daily temperature screenings and practice social distancing in all areas of the museum.
  • Museum staff will be required to wear masks at all times.

Exhibits and Programs

  • Periodic cleaning/sanitizing of the museum will take place daily.  
  • All interactive screens, experiences, exhibits  and simulators are available. 
  • Both the Waltrip and Heritage Hangars housing all aircraft will remain open.
  • The hangar overlooks, Heritage Gallery, Texas Aviation Hall of Fame and the museum gift shop will also remain open with a limited number of visitors entering at a time.

Flight Simulators

Ever wanted to know what it takes to become a pilot? Explore the skies in our flight simulators.

Take the controls with our Flight Simulators, part of our Aviation Learning Center. Guests who visit the museum and purchase a general admission can add flight in our Redbird Simulator!  Part of the Aviation Learning Center our flight simulators allow you to experience the adventures of flight in a whole new way.

The sky’s the limit! Ready to Take Flight? Flight Simulators open on Saturdays. Must be age 10 or older to fly. Pilot Experience available for corporate events and birthday parties.

Admission Discounts

Additional discounts available for active, retired and veterans of the armed services. Please have proof of employment / discount.

  • Military: Active/Retired/Nat’l Guard/Reserve – $11.95
    (valid for up to four tickets/visit – Cannot be combined with any other offer)
  • AAA – $3.00 off general admission
    (In Person Only – Cannot be combined with any other offer-Not valid on $5 Museum Mondays)
