Benton F. “Ben” Love

B-17 Navigator and Houston's Leading Business Banker

Ben Love - leader in the skies and in business

Considered the father of entrepreneurial-style banking, Benton F. “Ben” Love was recruited by Texas Commerce Bank to manage its metropolitan division in 1965. As president and chairman, he led the bank to exponential growth and prominence and revolutionized the industry. His integrity enabled him to become one of Houston’s most influential business and civic leaders. Love joined the Army Air Force on his 18th birthday and flew 25 missions as a B-17 navigator in the Eighth Air Force. He was often lead navigator responsible for guiding dozens of bombers to the target and back, a leadership skill which served him well in business.
