Scout Aviation Merit Badge


The Lone Star Flight Museum offers an engaging and educational Aviation Merit Badge workshop. This full day workshop (10am – 5pm) is designed for age 12-18 and provides a hand-on learning experience including fundamentals of flight, aircraft design, model building and flight simulators. Scouts rotate between stations, classes and presentations lead by the flight museum staff and Scout Merit Badge Counselors to fulfill the necessary requirements to achieve their Aviation Merit Badge.

Group Overnights


As the doors close and the lights dim, your group is in for the flight of a lifetime with an exclusive overnight at the Lone Star Flight Museum.

Soar through our doors and experience everything the Museum has to offer including flight simulators, glider building and competition, museum knowledge hunt, and movie viewing. Then settle down in the Waltrip Hangar under the wings of our B—17 and fall asleep amongst our historic aircraft collection.

Museum staff and volunteers lead programs and you never know when a pilot will make a landing!
